As a photographer we must figure out our relationship with photography. For the first time in history, we are producing photographs of anything and everything. These are exciting and yet challenging times. As a photographer we must look for meaning, significance and identity in our work.

This workshop is aimed at individuals trying to discover a deeper understanding and finding their vision. During this course we will try introspective approach to capturing the world around us.

Street photography is one of the purest forms of photography. It is also one of the most challenging forms of photography. It’s difficult because we usually don’t have much control over the environment, well at least as much as we might like.

Kolkata is one of the most iconic cities to shoot street in India. Its a place where the old and the new come together. The crisp winter light is remarkable.

Whats Included :

• You will learn how to capture the beauty in the mundane of everyday life. You will also learn how to capture “Decisive Moments”
• During this course you will also learn, how to get closer to the subjects and how do you create images that tell compelling stories?
• We will discuss technique, composition, vision and intent and how to use the camera and lens in a creative way.

5. Art of story telling

What do you need :

You don’t need a fancy DSLR or lenses, I will be happy to work with the equipment you already own. A smartphone will also do. So any camera that takes pictures, a film camera will also do, as long as you can develop and share the photographs with me.

Option 1

Tuition Fees : $1095/ Euro 1095/ Rs 85000 (+18% GST for Indian Participants)

Option 2

Full Package : $1995/ Euro 1995/ Rs 1,50,000 (+18% GST for Indian participants)

Includes :

• Tuition charges
• Single occupancy Hotel stay in 3/4 star property for 4 nights and 5 days.
• All meals
• All local travel in Kolkata

Excludes:
– Return international air ticket
– Any private expenses
– Room service charges
– Porter services
– 18% GST for Indians
– Visa fees (if applicable)
– Personal travel insurance (compulsory; self-purchase)

Cancellation Policy for Kolkata Workshop

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and plans sometimes need to change. Here’s our approach to cancellations:

• Before 1st July 2025: If you need to cancel before this date, we’ll provide a full refund, no questions asked.
• After 1st July 2025: A 20% cancellation fee will apply. This helps us manage the logistics and commitments we’ve made for the workshop.
• If We Cancel: In the rare event that I need to cancel the workshop, I’ll refund your full workshop fee. However, I am not liable for any travel or accommodation expenses incurred by participants.

We aim to be as flexible as possible while ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved.
